Mi hija disfruto mucho la versión pop up del libro。 Es un buen libro para introducir las emociones。

Excellent for helping young students sort out how they are feeling。 Very easy to make lesson plans with…I may introduce emotion jars in the library to help keep the story fresh for the kiddos。 This will easily become a yearly read starting with Pre-K through 1st graders

The Color Monster woke up feeling confused, because they're feeling a whole lot of emotions at once。 Color Monster's friend is going to help them sort everything out。I have mixed feelings about this book。。。partly because it seems to almost hint that you shouldn't have mixed feelings。 But, at the same time, I think it can be helpful to sort through your emotions and, I suppose, it's also hinting at the fact that you're feeling one emotion (anger) because another emotion is at the root of it (bein The Color Monster woke up feeling confused, because they're feeling a whole lot of emotions at once。 Color Monster's friend is going to help them sort everything out。I have mixed feelings about this book。。。partly because it seems to almost hint that you shouldn't have mixed feelings。 But, at the same time, I think it can be helpful to sort through your emotions and, I suppose, it's also hinting at the fact that you're feeling one emotion (anger) because another emotion is at the root of it (being scared or sad)。Despite my mixed feelings, I think this would be a great read aloud for preschool and lower elementary, to be accompanied with a discussion about feelings。 。。。more

Great book about feelings This was a great read for my 3 yr。 We talk about feelings quite often and relate them to colors。 I like this one as it talks about having different feelings all at once and trying to figure them out。

A teaching story for children about sorting through feelings and imposing order on them by naming them and confining and collecting them in separate jars。 It's a start, anyway! There will be further work to do when you move past this book and need to get it through to the child that having feelings, even multiple, scrambled-up feelings, does not make you a monster。 A teaching story for children about sorting through feelings and imposing order on them by naming them and confining and collecting them in separate jars。 It's a start, anyway! Virginia Hertz,
This book is about a monster that is all twisted up with emotions。 His emotions are represented as colors and in the beginning, he is a multicolor monster。 He separates his emotions and figures out which ones are which and what they mean。 It goes in depth on how anger, happiness, calmness, sacredness can make us feel。 The illustrations are really great and are reminiscent of a Childs drawings- this really adds to the overall feel of the story, as it connects to a Childs emotions。
Ashley,
It's a fine book for learning simple colors and emotions, but I had a bit of an issue with the text itself。 Bottling emotions and implying that you can't have more than one emotion at the same time is probably not helpful in helping children become emotionally balanced。 It was very much just ok and the illustrations were nice。 It's a fine book for learning simple colors and emotions, but I had a bit of an issue with the text itself。 Bottling emotions and implying that you can't have more than one emotion at the same time is probably not helpful in helping children become emotionally balanced。 It was very much just ok and the illustrations were nice。 。。。more

I used this book for an read aloud and fell in love with it, i think it is the perfect book for introducing understanding feelings to young kids。 I love that it helps bring visuals to the idea of feelings through the use of colors。 After reading it for my read aloud assignment I also read it to the children I nanny and they also loved it。 It is such a cute and fun book, I will defintely use it one day when I have my own classroom!
Alyssa Bush,
This is a perfect book for teaching young children about their emotions。 Feelings are sometimes hard to decipher at a young age and I believe this book encompasses that perfectly。 Each emotion being linked to an individual color to separate them I think could be a really helpful tool to use in real life as well! Highly recommend!
Alexis Ward,
This book is amazing for young children who just don't yet have a full grip on their emotions。 The book is full of vibrant and fun colors for kids。 Has great describing words to expand their vocabulary。 This story is also great for giving children a vast amount of words to help children express the way they are feeling and their emotions as a whole。 This book is amazing for young children who just don't yet have a full grip on their emotions。 The book is full of vibrant and fun colors for kids。 Has great describing words to expand their vocabulary。 This story is also great for giving children a vast amount of words to help children express the way they are feeling and their emotions as a whole。 。。。more
Karin,
I read this with my niece and I think she might be too young for it (she's 3)。 To be fair, the pop-ups are amazing and she was so taken away by them and focused on admiring and interacting with them that she didn't really listen to what I was reading。Though I have to say that I wish the book didn't separate emotions so definitely。 Something can make you feel several emotions at the same time and it's completely normal。 This book forgets about that。But yes, lovely book and beautifully built, so m I read this with my niece and I think she might be too young for it (she's 3)。 To be fair, the pop-ups are amazing and she was so taken away by them and focused on admiring and interacting with them that she didn't really listen to what I was reading。Though I have to say that I wish the book didn't separate emotions so definitely。 Something can make you feel several emotions at the same time and it's completely normal。 This book forgets about that。But yes, lovely book and beautifully built, so maybe in another year my niece will pay more attention。 。。。more

A great book describing emotions through colours。 It is useful for an art classes where the children are exploring how colour can affect your emotions and mood。 The pop up element adds interest and is suitable for children ages 5-11。

The Color Monster is a great book because it is simple for children to understand。 It teaches students about the associations between colors and emotions in a very comprehensive way! I think this would be useful in the classroom with young kiddos when talking about colors or feelings they may have。

This will be great for social emotional teaching especially with the littles who can’t express their emotions in words
Lianne Hagen,
